Cathy's Recipe




Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb pork sausage
  • 1 lb velveeta cheese
  • garlic powder to taste
  • 3 shakes tabasco sauce
  • 2 shakes oregano spice
  • 1 large loaf party rye


Directions:

  • Cook meats in a large skillet. Crumble and drain.
  • Cut the velvetta into large cubes and place them on top of the meat in the same pan.
  • Cover and allow the cheese to melt. When the cheese is melted, stir well.
  • Add garlic, Tabasco, and oregano and stir again.
  • Remove from the heat and spoon 1 tablespoon of the mixture onto each slice of rye bread.
  • Bake for 15 minutes at 350°F on a baking sheet.
  • If you want to freeze these ahead of time, place rye bread with meat in a single layer, cover with foil or plastic wrap, and store in the freezer.
  • Cook a little longer if starting from a frozen state.
