Helen's Recipes
"I've been making this recipe for over 60 years, and it has always been a family favorite."
Ingredients:
- 2-3 bags of the least expensive white bread you can find
- 1 lg onion chopped rather small
- 1 1/2 lb. of butter melted
- 12 large eggs
- sage
Directions:
- Break the bread into small pieces; kids love to do this.
- Add onions and mix well.
- Season with sage. Because this recipe makes a lot of stuffing, I usually use 3/4 to a whole bottle of sage.
- Break the eggs into the bread and mix with your hands as you go.
- After all the eggs have been incorporated, add the melted butter and hand mix until well blended.
- Stuff the bird in both cavities, tie it off, and place it in the pan to bake.
