Best Stuffing Ever!

Helen's Recipe

"I've been making this receipe for over 60 years and it has always been a family favorite."


  • 2-3 bags of the least expensive white bread you can find

  • 1 lg onion chopped rather small

  • 1 1/2 lb butter melted

  • 12 eggs

  • sage

~Break bread into small pieces, kids love to do this. ~

~Add onions and mix well. ~

~Season with the sage, I usually use about 3/4 to a whole bottle of sage because this recipe makes alot of stuffing. ~

~Break eggs and add to bread, mix with your hands as you go. ~

~After all eggs have been incorporated add the melted butter and hand mix until well blended. ~

~Stuff the bird in both the cavities, tie off and place in pan to bake. ~


"You will probably have extra stuffing left over so I put

it in a casserole dish and add a can of chicken broth

to the casserole only "

~ Do not bake the casserole stuffing until the last 45 minutes before you are ready to serve the turkey, otherwise the stuffing will dry out. Enjoy! ~
