Cathy's Recipe


  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 lb pork sausage

  • 1 lb velveeta cheese

  • garlic powder to taste

  • 3 shakes tabasco sauce

  • 2 shakes oregano spice

  • 1 large loaf party rye

~Cook meats in large skillet. Crumble and drain. ~

~In same pan, cut velvetta into large cubes and lay on top of meat. ~

~Cover and allow cheese to melt. When cheese is melted, stir well. ~

~Add garlic, tabasco and oregano and stir again. ~

~Remove from heat and place one tbsp. of mixure on each party rye bread. ~

~Put onto baking sheet and bake at 350 for 15 minutes. ~

~If you want to freeze these ahead of time, place rye bread with meat into single layer cover with foil or plastic wrap and store in freezer. ~

~Cook a little longer if starting from frozen state. ~
