Cathy's Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 (8 oz package cream cheese) softened
- 1/2 cup butter (1 full stick) softened
- 1 1/4 cups sugar (dry measuring cup)
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour (dry measuring cup)
- 2 eggs (large)
- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (dry measuring cup)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (measuring spoon)
- 1 1/2 tsps baking powder (measuring spoon)
- 1/2 tsps baking soda (measuring spoon)
Topping:
- 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (dry measuring cup)
- 2 tbls sugar (measuring spoon)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon (measuring spoon)
Directions:
- In a mixing bowl. beat the cream cheese, butter and sugar.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add the bananas and vanilla.
- Combine flour, baking powder and baking soda; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
- Combine topping ingredients in seperate bowl.v Add 1/2 of the topping mixture to the batter.
- Transfer to a greased 13x9 inch baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining topping.
- Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
- Cool on a wire rack.
